“Appalling”.  More than 1.5 tonnes of dumped mattresses, furniture and other household rubbish was removed from the Newtown bottle bank area over the Christmas.  Environmental protection body PURE and the Wicklow County Council were inundated with calls over the Christmas break in relation to illegally dumped rubbish at regional bottle banks, with Newtown site among the worst affected.
