‘Roche welcomes PURE funding’. Wicklow T.D., Dick Roche, Minister for European Affairs has welcomed the continued commitment to Wicklow’s PURE Project with the allocation of €100,000 per annum of each of the next three years.  The project, Protecting Uplands and Rural Environments with established with the Minister’s support in 2006 when he was minister in the Department of Environment Heritage and Local Government.  The minister commented in the article that he ‘…is delighted that the review of operations of the past three years has shown just how much a project like PURE can achieve and that it has potential to develop.’  The commitment from government to continue to the fund the project is welcome and will insure PURE’s continued success.’
